A Collection of My Favorite Photographs I Made in 2020

This is my year-end collection featuring some of my favorite photographs I made throughout 2020, a year that has been challenging for the entire world to say the least. A year that has been full of highs and lows, but through it all, photography has been something that I’ve relied on heavily to keep my mind right during these difficult times. Photography can be very therapeutic you know!

With limited travel and a limited amount of things to do this year, it was very difficult to get out and shoot. But every time I stepped out of my house, I brought my camera with me and did what I could.

In this collection, you’ll find 20 photographs and in some of them, you’ll see a link to a video that I made while shooting. So if you’re interested in watching those, just click on the link. There is a mix of portraits, street, documentary, and landscape, photos. All taken with either the Fujifilm X100F, Fujifilm X100V, or the Sony A7III.

The photos are not ranked nor are they in any particular order, however, I have numbered them for you to reference and I’d love to know which one(s) you like, so feel free to leave me a comment in the comment section below.

If you enjoy my work, one of the greatest compliments you can give is sharing this post with your family and/or friends by using the social media share buttons located at the bottom of this post. Thank you guys for all your support!

I hope you enjoy viewing this selection of photographs as much as I enjoyed making them. Please take care and stay safe.

I asked these kids for a photo while I was touring the Chorrillo barrio in Panama City, and this is what I got.
I made an entire video on this experience, make sure you check it out: “EL CHORRILLO, THE OTHER SIDE OF PANAMA CITY”.

No matter how many bigger and better bridges I may come across on my travels around the world, the Bridge of the Americas will always be an iconic one for me. I took this shot on a lovely summer afternoon from the Mirador de Las Américas.

Chickens and roosters have roamed the streets of Ybor City for 100 years, and while we were under a stay at home order, they took over 7th Ave.

One thing I made sure my family and I did during this pandemic was to get out and enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Obviously, following all the safety guidelines. These are my kids deep in conversation, enjoying the ocean breeze and view.

This is one of many shots I took during the George Floyd protests in Downtown Tampa, but to me, one of the most powerful ones. The message is clear.

I documented the whole thing, check out my video here: Documenting the George Floyd Protest - Downtown Tampa #BLM

This is Roberto, a Cuban migrant that lives in Casco Viejo, Panama. He was such a nice guy, I really enjoyed my conversation with him. I met him while I was out shooting a Street Photography vlog for my channel “Fujifilm X100F - Street Photography in Panama City”. He is planning to reunite with his family in Miami one day.

Did you know that Tampa is the birthplace of the Cuban sandwich? It’s Tampa, not Miami ;) Fun fact!

Something that became more and more evident to me, at least in some parts of Tampa and especially St. Petersburg, were the messages of solidarity against racism. It’s encouraging and inspiring to see unity during tough times. Speak out every time you get a chance! Fuck racism!

People outside of the Apple store. Unfortunately, I had to stand in this line in order to get my phone repaired, but to be fair, Apple was doing all they could to keep everyone safe, by following all the safety guidelines.

This is my daughter studying at home, when the pandemic started she was in New York City for her freshman year of college, but like many other students around the world, she had to finish her school year from home. I am thankful she made it home safely before things got really bad in NYC.

She never noticed me while I was taking this photo, I hope I don’t get in trouble for sharing it!

Haslam’s Book Store was established in 1933 and is the largest independent bookstore in Florida. At the time I made this photo it was closed due to the pandemic. I really like the texture of the wall and the posters in the windows, so I hung out and waited to have some people to come into the shot.

That guy with his left hand up in the center of the frame is the groom, a good friend of mine! I started the year off partying at his wedding! Here we were having a great time… if we only knew what 2020 had in store for us. Good times though!
